The Surrey Sports Partnership (SSP) has signed a public pledge for racial equality in sport.

The pledge, called the Racial Equality Charter for Sport, has been developed by Sporting Equals and is signed by leaders of sport, committing them to using their influence to create a discrimination-free world of sport.

SSP’s pledge follows a series of new developments since it launched its sports equality policy, ‘Striving for Equality in Sport’, in November 2001.

SSP will also be supporting the rollout of a Disability Sports Awareness training course that was first piloted in December 2003.
