Safyie Reid Jean-Pierre is new spa director of Ritz-Carlton Spa, Los Angeles
The Ritz-Carlton Spa, Los Angeles is under new leadership with the appointment of Safyie Reid Jean-Pierre as spa director.
With more than two decades of industry experience, Jean-Pierre will oversee the 8,000sq ft spa, claimed to be the largest in downtown Los Angeles.
In her new position, Jean-Pierre hopes to reimagine The Ritz-Carlton Spa, Los Angeles’ offering and create concepts and functions to maximise not only revenues, but also staff development and customer satisfaction.
She plans to debut a range of new seasonal treatments, partner collaborations and trend-forward treatments.
Working with the spa team to elevate current offerings, she wants to expand the range of services available to guests and integrate rising treatments such as the practice of Gua Sha.
Jean-Pierre also plans to add Kombucha-centric treatments to the spa menu. The first will be a facial – powered by Eminence Organics – incorporating microbiome-friendly ingredients to strengthen the moisture barrier and accelerate the repair of dull, dry skin for a renewed glow.
“I’m thrilled to have the opportunity to lead the team at The Ritz-Carlton Spa, Los Angeles, and bring the spa into its next era of hospitality,” says Jean-Pierre.
“After starting over 20 years ago at The Ritz-Carlton, Rose Hall Jamaica, this feels like I’m returning home to The Ritz-Carlton portfolio and making the most natural next step in my career.”
Previous experience
Prior to her new appointment at The Ritz-Carlton Spa, Los Angeles, Jean-Pierre served as the spa & wellness centre director at The Body Holiday & Rendezvous Resort in St. Lucia, West Indies.
As director of the largest Spa in the Caribbean, Jean-Pierre oversaw the operation of the onsite facilities and led a spa team of more than 85 employees.
With a Bachelor of Science in Hospitality and Tourism Management from the University of Technology, Jamaica, Jean-Pierre began her career in hospitality at The Ritz-Carlton, Rose Hall Jamaica as a reservation agent in 2000.
Her passion for wellness and beauty led her to the spa where she quickly rose through the ranks eventually taking the role of spa director. Throughout her career, she has worked at various luxury resort spas including The Hyatt Regency, Trinidad and Peter Island Resort & Spa, Tortola, British Virgin Island.
