KidZania to open its second site in India
Mexico-based children's edutainment brand KidZania is to open its second site in India, forming part of the 147-acre Entertainment City development in Noida, near New Delhi.
KidZania as a concept is an interactive kids' city designed to emulate the workings of a real city and built to scale for children. It comes complete with paved roads and cars, city buildings - such as a bank, university, fire department, tv studio and factories - and its own currency, called kidZos.
Entertainment City is being built and run by International Recreation Parks Private Limited - a joint venture between real estate developer Unitech and entertainment operator International Amusement Limited - and is already scheduled to include a go-kart track, an amusement park, a range of international rides and a 15-screen theatre complex to be operated by Indian cinema chain PVR (Priya Village Roadshow).
In addition to the leisure element, Entertainment City will also be home to the Gardens Galleria shopping mall and a 200-room five star hotel.
The opening of KidZania's Noida venue will follow that of its Central Plaza Mumbai site, which opened its doors in August 2013.
