Sported members to benefit from Active Kids equipment
Approximately 487,000 disadvantaged young people will become eligible for new sports equipment and experiences after Sported partnered with Sainsbury’s Active Kids.
Sported is a charity which supports more than 3,200 community sports clubs. It’s 3,000 premium members – who work with 11-25 year-old people from disadvantaged communities – are now able to collect Sainsbury’s Active Kids vouchers and exchange them for sports equipment and other sporting experiences.
“Funding is always a struggle for our members, and it can be hard for them to access new kit, training and experiences,” said Chris Grant, chief executive of Sported.
“Now, thanks to Sainsbury’s Active Kids, they will have the opportunity to take advantage of a wide range of offers and give the young people they’re working with an even better experience.”
Since the launch of Active Kids in 2005, the supermarket giant has donated £160m (US$228.8m, €205.4m) worth of equipment and experiences to schools and clubs across the UK.
