Scottish football set to undergo overhaul
Members of the Scottish Football Association (SFA) have agreed plans for a "radical and historic" transformation of the domestic game's governance and structures.
Each of the resolutions proposed at the national governing body's AGM at Hampden Park, Glasgow, were approved - including changes to the board's composition from 11 to seven. A new Judicial Panel is to be introduced to handle disciplinary measures, while Articles of Association to help protect and support referees were also given the backing of members.
The changes form part of the Scottish FA's strategic plan - Scotland United - A 2020 Vision - founded on performance, strong growth and greater financial returns. SFA chief executive Stewart Regan said: "These are the most significant changes in the 138-year history of the Scottish FA.
"The decisions made today will allow us change and modernise the association in line with good business practice, and press ahead with our strategic plan."
