Visitors will be able to interact with Stitch in a 12 minute show / Disney
Tokyo Disneyland has announced that a new ¥2bn (US$16.8m, €14.5m, £11.1m) attraction based on Lilo and Stitch is to open at the park’s Tomorrowland on 17 July.
The theatre-type attraction, known as Stitch Encounter, will focus around the popular character, with guests able to communicate with Stitch in real time, talking to and interacting with the theatre’s large screen. Each show will last around 12 minutes and hold up to 160 people at a time.
Stitch Encounter has proved popular in Disneyland’s parks, with similar attractions at Hong Kong Disneyland and Disneyland Paris. While in other parks Stitch is multi-lingual, no languages outside of Japanese have been included in Tokyo Disneyland’s announcement.
