SeaWorld Abu Dhabi will be home to the world's largest multi-species aquarium
Construction work is set to be completed later this year (2022) on the world's largest multi-species aquarium at SeaWorld Abu Dhabi.
Slated for a 2023 opening, SeaWorld will feature a number of different realms offering immersive experiences – as well as dynamic habitats, housing different species together, as they are in their natural habitat.
Guests will be encouraged to explore the natural underwater environments via immersive storytelling techniques and technologies, to further deepen their appreciation and understanding of ocean life.
Located on Yas Island, SeaWorld will house more than 100,000 marine animals, including sharks, schools of fish, rays and sea turtles, with 68,000 of these being in the aquarium.
The attraction will also be home to Yas SeaWorld Research and Rescue Center, the UAE’s first dedicated marine research, rescue, rehabilitation and return centre providing facilities to support regional and global conservation efforts.
The development is being undertaken in partnership by SeaWorld Parks & Entertainment and Miral, an Abu Dhabi-based curator of attractions and visitor experiences.
Mohamed Abdalla Al Zaabi, CEO of Miral said: "This is another major addition to Yas Island’s existing immersive experiences and attractions, and a testament to achieving our vision of positioning the island as a top global tourism destination for residents and visitors alike.”
