SkyPoint Climb to open on Gold Coast
A new visitor experience taking climbers on a guided walk 270m (886ft) above the ground at the SkyPoint Observation Tower on Australia's Gold Coast is to open this winter
Ardent Leisure is behind the SkyPoint Climb proposals, which will see climbers dress in a full-body climbing suit and harness before stepping outside the tower on level 77.
A guide will highlight nearby major landmarks as part of the new experience, which is also designed to enable visitors to witness uninterrupted views of the Gold Coast's landscape.
Visitors will be able to use an internal hand rail guiding them up to the spire of the building or walk along the edge, with 240 stairs leading up to the crow's nest at the top of the climb.
Ardent Leisure chief executive officer Greg Shaw said: "SkyPoint Climb will form the Gold Coast's premium new tourism and leisure attraction designed for locals and holiday makers wanting to experience the region's most unique vantage point with a level of thrill.
"The Gold Coast is known for being Australia's fun capital and Ardent Leisure is proud to be on the front foot when it comes to offering new experiences that will boost the region's tourism offering."
