A hotel and spa called Le Couvent has opened within a redeveloped former convent in Hérépian, near the spa town of Lamalou-les-Bains in the Languedoc region of France.

The building dates back to the 17th century while the boutique hotel has 13 suites – many with terraces boasting views over the Monts d’Orb.

The spa has a vaulted ceiling, one treatment room and also includes a mini pool which can be cold in the summer and heated in the winter.

A spa product range is also being developed, using local ingredients such as honey, lavender and grapes.
