The first phase of a new themed waterpark for Victoria, Australia, the AUS$3.5m Splash & Play, has opened at Adventure Park, Geelong.

The first stage includes the Super 6 Lane Aqua Racer, where riders can race each other at speeds reaching 40km per hour; and Bonito’s Bay Water Play Splash Zone, a Caribbean-themed kids adventure play area boasting waterfalls, water jets and waterslides surrounding an enormous tipping bucket.

The second stage of the park, which will open in September 2008 will feature a River Torrent ride and a tiny tots area for children under five years old.

Adventure Park already offers more than 20 land- and water-based rides and attractions, including waterslides, canoeing, an adult jumping castle and mini golf courses. Details: www.adventurepark.com.au
