Archery GB launches development scheme
National governing body Archery GB has launched a new programme as part of a strategy to develop archery clubs and make the sport more popular across the UK.
The Archery GB Club Development Programme, called Ontarget, will see clubs being offered a development framework - including access to grants and Archery GB-branded materials - which clubs can tailor according to their specific needs.
The scheme is designed to allow clubs to develop in the way that is right for each club, rather than forcing them to a prescribed method of development.
Arran Coggan, national club development co-ordinator said: "Our development programme does not require our clubs to undertake a fixed development route.
"Ontarget gives our clubs help and support in developing their strengths, meaning that our network of Ontarget clubs will be diverse and varied and also offer a quality and consistent experience for archers, helping us attract more people into our fantastic sport."
The programme was launched at the recent National Development Conference, where delegates took part in workshops to help shape the scheme.
