China to get first outdoor Angry Birds theme park
City council officials at Yanguan Town in China have announced plans for a 20m yuan (£2.18m, $US3.25m, €2.54m) Angry Birds theme park to be built in the Zhejiang Province.
The park will be the country's first official outdoor Angry Birds attraction and will be located on a 1.5km (0.93m) stretch of the Qiantang River in Yanguan, Haining.
The council has signed an agreement with Finland-based Rovio Entertainment, the makers of the popular smart phone game, which has seen more than 1.7bn downloads since its release in December 2009.
The new attraction will feature a Bird's Castle, an interactive square for guests to play the Angry Birds game, a 4D theatre, exhibition halls and a parkour zone.
All major facilities will be imported from Finland, with the theme park opening on a trial run in late August.
The 20m yuan construction price will be covered by a state-owned tourism company while plans to launch a Haining Tide (something Yanguan Is famous for) version of Angry Birds to promote the theme park is also in the works.
