Mattel launching first FEC at Liverpool's Albert Dock this March
Toy manufacturer Mattel’s first FEC coming to Liverpool in late March, with an Easter opening date now set for the 13,000sq ft (1,200sq m) set for the £1.5m (US$2.2m, €1.9m) attraction.
Mattel Play! Liverpool, will feature the brand’s most popular IPs including Thomas & Friends, Bob the Builder and Fireman Sam.
Owned and operated by Heritage Great Britain, the 13,000sq ft (1,200sq m) FEC will sit within the Grand Hall at Liverpool’s Albert Dock, once the TV studios for UK show This Morning.
Each Mattel character featured within the attraction will have its own immersive zone, with lifesize engines from Thomas & Friends, Wendy’s Workshop from Bob the Builder and the Pontypandy Fire Station from Fireman Sam among the activities on offer for kids at the attraction.
While a specific date is yet-to-be confirmed, management at Heritage Great Britain said the FEC will be open “by Easter weekend” starting 25 March.
