Jean-Guy de Gabriac collaborates with Four Seasons spa staff on new treatment
The Spa at Four Seasons Hotel Los Angeles at Beverly Hills has introduced a signature massage created in collaboration with six top therapists and consultant Jean-Guy de Gabriac.
The Surrender Massage is designed for guests to “surrender completely into blissful relaxation” and uses subtle techniques to unlock tension and powerful strokes to melt knots.
“All too often, treatment protocols are dictated by product brands remotely, but this signature massage was birthed out of the expertise of our senior-level massage therapists, with the guidance of spa consultant Jean-Guy de Gabriac,” said Michael Newcombe, general manager of the Four Seasons Hotel Los Angeles at Beverly Hills and head of the global spa and wellness task force team for Four Seasons.
The Surrender Massage releases deep tensions on physical, emotional and mental levels.
It begins with long Swedish massage strokes using crystal-blended oils, and incorporates gentle stretches and energy healing around acupressure points along Chinese meridians.
The signature massage can be customised to include deep-tissue massage and guests can select one of four crystal-infused oils.
“The format of the workshop to co-create the treatment was very empowering for the spa team,” said de Gabriac.
“It gave them quality time to better know each other and tightened their bonds through mutual appreciation and admiration of the secret best moves that they shared with each other, in a truly generous, collaborative way. This was spa spirit at its best.”
