Strathdearn, one of Scotland's highland communities has received £66,000 from Sportscotland to be spent on a covered multi-use sport pitch.

The pitch will be blended into the back round as not to spoil the view and will have flood lighting to maximise playing time.

Currently the nearest sports facility to Strathdearn is 50 kilometers away and with limited public transport options means residents do not take part in sport.

Louise Martin CBE, chair of Sportscotland said: "Sportscotland believes that providing good quality, accessible facilities that meet the needs of the local community is essential in developing grassroots sport in Scotland."
