Stevenage Arts & Leisure Centre in north Hertfordshire has won the Enjoy England Business Tourism Venue of the Year Award for the eastern region.

The regional winners of the annual tourism awards will be automatically entered for the national awards which will take place in April 2008.

Bob Bustance, operations director at the Stevenage Arts & Leisure Centre said: ‘”The venue is best known for its theatre and sports facilities, but over the past few years the corporate event business has become increasingly important as more and more companies are looking to host their conferences, training days, exhibitions and events in the facilities we have available.

“The location, accessibility and floor space of the venue has encouraged major product launches from national companies to utilise the Arts & Leisure Centre, which of course has generated the business tourism recognised by this award.”
