TWC unveils new sports and learning plans
Telford and Wrekin Council (TWC) has unveiled new plans for its Sports and Learning Communities programme to comply with revised government requirements.
Last summer, the local authority confirmed that the project had been given the green light following a comprehensive review of Building Schools for the Future schemes. Revisions include the replacement and relocation of Wrockwardine Wood Arts College to Priorslee and the complete reconstruction of Phoenix School, Dawley.
TWC cabinet member for children and young people Stephen Burrell said: "While this has resulted in some changes to our initial plans, we will still be able to complete 95 per cent of the scheme as originally set out. "Telford and Wrekin will have schools and sports facilities that are second to none and fit for purpose for generations to come."
