Amangiri to open next year in Utah
Singapore-based Amanresorts is to open a luxury resort and spa in Utah, US.
Construction work began in early 2006 while, according to reports, the project will be completed by mid-2008.
The resort, called Amangiri, will be situated on 670 acres of land near the Four Corners region of Utah and is intended to become a premier destination gateway for the state.
Amangiri – translated as ‘peace’ and ‘rocky hills’ – will comprise 34 suites and 28 villas, a luxury Aman Spa, a swimming pool and restaurant.
The spa’s entrance, leading to the facility’s public areas, is defined by 400ft rock walls to the east and ancient sand dunes to the west. Treatments on offer will include a range of therapeutic massages, body wraps, scrubs and baths.
Amanresorts was founded by Adrian Zecha, who wanted to create a collection of intimate retreats in beautiful surroundings.
The first resort, Amanpuri, was launched in 1987 in Phuket, Thailand, and the company has since grown to encompass 18 resorts in countries including France, India, Sri Lanka, Cambodia and Indonesia.
Aman Spas are integral to the wellness offering in all the group’s resorts.
