New trust to run Doncaster leisure facilites
Doncaster Culture and Leisure Trust (DCLT) is to operate a number of the town's leisure facilities on behalf of the local authority.
The trust, which operates Doncaster Dome, is set to be further developed after Doncaster Council's cabinet agreed that it would offer the best way forward for local provision. Adwick; Armthorpe; Edlington; Rossington; St James Pool and Health Club; and Thorne are among the facilities to be taken over by DCLT on 1 April.
The remaining venues to transfer to the trust are Hatfield Water Park and Crookhill Golf Club. DCLT chair Andrew Burden said: "The cabinet's approval means that we can now move ahead with plans to bring these venues under one management structure.
"Doncaster Council have ensured that leisure provision will remain at the forefront of Doncaster's agenda."
