Extreme Hotels agrees contract for Sochi property
UK-based Extreme Hotels has agreed a 10-year management deal for a 209-bedroom hotel in Sochi, Russia, with Rosa Khutor Ski Resort Development Company (RKSR).
Scheduled to open in early 2015, Extreme Hotel Sochi will be located close to the city’s Alpine Ski slopes and the Snow Board Park - venues that will host downhill events at the 2014 Winter Olympics.
The property is the seventh to be added to Extreme Hotels' development pipeline and follows previously announced sites in Cape Verde, Switzerland, Albania and the UK.
The first Extreme-branded hotel is set to open in Sao Nicolau in Cape Verde by the end of 2012.
Al Gosling, CEO and founder of Extreme Sports Company, which owns the Extreme Hotels brand, said: "Once all our facilities are built this will be one of the best extreme sports locations in the world and is perfectly positioned to ride the wave of attention that Sochi is attracting as a lead in to the Winter Olympics in 2014."
RKSR is a subsidiary of ProfEstate, one of Russia's leading property developers.
