Melia Hotels International has joined forces with visitor attraction operator Katmandu Group to form a new integrated theme park resort in Mallorca, Spain.

Sol Katmandu Park & Resort is a joint venture between Melia Hotels International and the Katmandu Group and will see the merger of the Magaluf Park Hotel and the Katmandu Park.

The Sol Magaluf Park hotel will be transformed into a Katmandu-themed hotel. The theming includes plans for special effects on the three facades of the hotel exterior.

The project will see the integration of all facilities, operations and communications of both businesses.

Katmandu Park currently features attractions such as 4D animation rides, interactive games, a haunted experience and miniature golf, with plans of adding additional facilities in the coming year.
