Jubilee Hall Trust wins Parliamentary contract
Jubilee Hall Trust (JHT) has won an extension to its management contract for the Westminster Gym in the Houses of Parliament.
JHT has run the in-House facility since winning the contract in 1999 and has successfully tendered twice since.
The 2-year extension runs until 2015, and enables the charity to continue to invest and develop the gym to meet the needs of its diverse user base who come from all areas of Parliament.
JHT Chief Executive, Phil Rumbelow, said: "We are delighted to have been granted this extension, which is a testament to the high quality of our team at the Houses of Parliament gym.
"In our last customer survey, 98% of gym members rated our staff service as good or excellent, and an overwhelming majority said that they would recommend us to a friend.
"We look forward to continuing to work with our colleagues in the Parliamentary Wellbeing Service to ensure that we are providing an outstanding environment to improve the health of our users.
"The contract operates as a service concession, costing the public purse nothing, and the surpluses generated are either put back into the facility or used to fund our community outreach work, which includes programmes to support obese children in Southwark and free gym sessions for people on benefits in Camden."
