Bradford Gallery to deposit archive in National Media Museum before move
Bradford's Impressions Gallery One, is depositing its archive with the National Media Museum before a move to Cartwright Hall to make way for a new City Library later this year.
The Impressions Gallery Archive is believed to be the first time a publicly funded photograph gallery will have its archive cared for and made accessible by a national institution.
Impressions Gallery director, Anne McNeill, said: "To coincide with achieving our 40th anniversary, we are delighted to realise the next steps in the development and long term preservation of our archival materials."
The move comes after Bradford Council decided to move its main library from the Central Library building to City Park. West Yorkshire Archive Service and the local library, however, will remain in the Central library on its ground floor, with the remainder of the building being converted into offices for the council
