David Haye to launch gym in downtown Dubai
Boxing legend and two-time World Champion David Haye is to launch a flagship 'Hayemaker Gym' in downtown Dubai, with plans to expand across the wider GCC and Middle East.
The high-end venture is to include a boxing ring, functional training zone for a wide range of HIIT classes, group exercise studio, cycling studio and a gym equipped with Technogym Artis stations, according to the website. Members signing up to VVIP package can even enjoy personal coaching and training sessions with David Haye throughout the year. As part of the gym’s ‘Everything on tap’ philosophy, members will receive a Hayemaker Gym wristband which can be used to gain entry to the club, secure a locker and offer cashless payment for snacks and drinks within the club. It can also be used at the in-gym restaurant Bench, to buy more substantial post-workout meals.
"Having been a frequent visitor to Dubai I know it's a city where people demand the best and where they come to improve their lives,” said Haye.
“The Hayemaker Gym Dubai will fill the niche for world-class fitness expertise and equipment that the Dubai community deserves. It will be a driving force for the health and fitness community in the emirate."
The Hayemaker team is led by Haye himself, along with Alberto Barbieri who brings a wealth of knowledge in hospitality and customer service, and Diana Gaskell – formerly of Fitness First. Beyond the opening of the first site – which a staff member told Health Club Management would likely be next month – there are plans to expand into a number of smaller specialised units such as boxing studios and Hypoxic Training facilities, with the overall aim of growing a presence across the wider GCC and Middle East in the same format.
