Hotel, waterpark and science centre all touted for major US$500m Nashville leisure development
Plans have been unveiled in Nashville, Tennessee, for a US$500m (€471m £401m) development set to feature an 829-bedroom hotel and a host of new attractions.
To be located in downtown Nashville, the World One Hotel would become the city’s largest, with architects Earl Swensson Associates (ESa) drawing up plans on behalf of the Big T Building Company (BTB).
According to BTB, a four-storey video wall would be wrapped around three sides of the building, which would contain the aforementioned hotel, a 2,500 seat 3D theatre, Science Rocks science centre and a rooftop waterpark.
The project is headed up by father and son Barry and Josh Disney – distant relatives of famous cartoonist Walt Disney.
Josh, who is chief business development officer for Big T Building, told The Tennessean that the group has held recently talks with major lodging brands, with the aim of developing the five-star hotel and the accompanying attractions.
