Floating diving spa resort patrolling the waters around Maldives
A luxury floating resort, with the largest on-board spa in the Maldives, has been established to cater for both diving enthusiasts and those with a keen interest in spa travel.
Floating Resort by Scubaspa occupies two purpose-built, 50m-long yachts – Ying and Yang – with each hosting forty guests across 19 suites. Each yacht has a 300sqm (3,200sq ft) spa.
The vessels offer divers of all levels the chance to explore the scenic waters around the Maldives in a safe environment, with onboard, PADI (Professional Association of Diving Instructors)-approved guides.
The two upper decks of the yachts have been dedicated to wellness facilities, featuring six treatment rooms – including one for couples’ therapies.
There is also a secluded deck for open air massage treatments and meditation and a shaded spa lounge for relaxation and daily sunrise yoga led by Indian masters.
A menu of more than 20 treatments includes Balinese, Thai and Filipino hilot massage; warm bamboo, lava shell and stone therapies; ayurveda; and beauty treatments based on Asian and western traditions.
During the seven-night journeys aboard Scubaspa – which cost from US$1990 (£1,635) per person – guests are able to choose eight treatments to enjoy.
With a crew of 35 on each yacht, guests benefit from a better than 1:1 staff to guest ratio, including four spa therapists, yoga master, four chefs and a photographer/videographer to capture lasting memories.
Other facilities on the vessels – which have been designed in a natural palette to reflect the natural setting – include an open-air cinema space for viewings and live concerts.
