£35m plans for West Wickham to include new leisure centre
Bromley Council has unveiled plans to replace its ageing West Wickham Leisure Centre as part of a £35m regeneration project.
The council has set out plans to replace the existing centre, which dates back to the 1960s, with a new building split over two levels. The current centre is owned by the council and operated by Mytime Active.
Facilities at the new centre will include a health club and group exercise studio, a 25m swimming pool, a learner pool and a café.
As part of plans to centralise services, the new centre will also house a library.
The centre will be partly funded by a residential element, set to include a four-storey block of 73 new apartments.
The council has begun a search for an architect for the project and further details on the development are set to be revealed later this year.
