Tees Active teams up with sports college to give young athletes video analysis
Young people in Tees Active Sports Academy now have access to video analysis equipment and Dartfish software through the sports trust’s partnership with Blakeston School and Sports Community College.
The Dartfish software allows athletes and their coaches to gain instant visual feedback on performance and break down every movement.
Cloe Dawson a 16-year-old figure skater and member of Tees Active Sports Academy, who trains at Billingham Forum, said: “Being able to watch myself skate on video – and in particular, slow motion – enables my coach and I to iron out any faults. It is also great for your confidence when you see yourself perform a clean jump.”
Mike Bell, Blakeston’s director of community sports said: “We are happy to be working in partnership with Tees Active Sports Academy and are pleased that we are receiving such positive feedback from athletes and coaches.
“Blakeston will be an academy for Dartfish use and I hope that our students will use some of the academy athletes as possible subjects for future GCSE projects.”
