Longleat has been voted Family Attraction of the Year in the Good Britain Guide 2002.

The Guide says Longleat is 'a great estate that seems to thoroughly enjoy entertaining its visitors.' Commenting on the choice of Longleat, the Guide's reviewers added: Some stately homes give the impression of opening their doors grudgingly, but this busy estate has thrown itself into the role with gusto.

Longleat's publics relations officer, Florence Wallace said: The announcement of this award will be a real boost for all our staff and will spur us on to try even harden next year.

The Good Britain Guide contains more than 10,000 entries and is published by Ebury Press.
