Orangetheory Fitness launches concept in Australia
Orangetheory Fitness, which has more than 200 clubs in 28 US states, has now launched in Australia.
This calorie burning, PT-led concept is based on heart rate training and offers a small group exercise workout, which is broken down into intervals of cardiovascular and strength training. It is designed to maintain a target zone which stimulates metabolism and increases energy.
The company says it is on track to open an additional 100-150 locations by the end of the year, with plans to break into new markets, including Hawaii. Discussions are underway for studios in a number of other countries, says spokesperson Andie Biederman.
In the last two months, the company has launched new clubs in Indiana, Wisconsin, Florida and Arkansas. It is expanding its international presence with studios in Bogota, Colombia and Winchester, UK, the latter being through DLL, which acquired exclusive UK rights in 2013.
