DCMS announces Improvement Fund recipients
The Department for Culture, Media and Sport (DCMS) has earmarked £4m in funding for 31 museums across the UK.
The annual DCMS/Wolfson Foundation Museums & Galleries Improvement Fund aims to improve the quality of displays and enhance the experience for visitors at regional museums.
This year’s grants include new galleries at the Imperial War Museum and Birmingham Museum and Art Gallery, as well as a set of new displays at Norwich Castle.
Paul Ramsbottom, executive secretary of the Wolfson Foundation said: "The DCMS/Wolfson partnership has become an excellent example of what can be achieved when public funds are matched with private philanthropy.
"The awards announced today are a testimony to the quality and diversity of the country’s museums and galleries. The Wolfson Foundation is delighted to be associated with these excellent projects."
