The Gym Group swoops on two Gym4all sites
The Gym Group has confirmed that it has acquired two sites from independent gym chain Gym4all for an undisclosed amount.
The sites in Derby and Croydon are currently being refurbished and will relaunch under Gym Group colours in December, featuring the recently upgraded layout and a wide range of Matrix Fitness equipment. The gym chain currently has 67 sites in operation, with a further 12 in the pipeline (including the two Gym4all sites).
Gym Group COO Jim Graham told Health Club Management: “As part of The Gym Group’s organic expansion plan, the company has recently grown its property portfolio with the addition of gyms in Derby and Croydon.
“The new gyms allow us to bring our popular brand to lots more people but we also look forward to welcoming back previous members.”
According to Gym4all MD Erik van Meeteren, the sale enables the low cost chain to reinvest in its other three sites, as well as bringing impetus to other ventures.
“The sale of Gym4all Derby and Croydon gave us the opportunity to reinvest in the Gym4all business, upgrading the remaining clubs and investing in the new Gym4all franchise project,” he said.
“After a successful test in Holland, we are planning to roll out franchise clubs throughout the UK, with the first one now open in Nottingham.”
