The latest version of the Oura ring can track heart rate across 40 activities and measure stress
The new Oura Ring 4 includes Smart Sensing technology that gives more accurate health data and is supported by a redesigned app to make the connection between behaviour and long-term impact.
“The next-generation Oura Ring 4, the reimagined Oura App and the development of the Smart Sensing platform represent significant steps forward for wearables across accuracy, comfort, personalisation and design,” says Tom Hale, Oura CEO.
“Oura Ring is designed to be a personal health companion, giving our members a holistic view of their health by pairing personal data with meaningful, actionable insights to facilitate long-term changes.”
With the automatic activity detection, users can track their heart rate across more than 40 different activities, including pastimes such as dancing and gardening.
Oura has also launched its first stress feature, Daytime Stress, to empower ring wearers to learn how to better handle periods of physiological stress. Wearers can see how the physiological impact of their daily activities affects their stress levels and gain a better understanding of the impact of their habits and behaviours.
With women in their 20s being Oura’s fastest-growing member segment, an update will soon be available to provide information about conception. Rolling out in the next few months, Fertile Window will give an estimated view of the most fertile days.
Available for shipping from this week, the ring comes in an expanded range of 12 sizes and six colours. Prices start at US$349, one month of membership is included with purchase, after that membership is US$5.99/month or US$69.99/year.
