Tottenham sports centre to be refurbished

The White Hart Lane Community Sports Centre in Tottenham, London, is set to be refurbished after Haringey Borough Council (HBC) secured a deal, which is estimated to save the council £478,000 a year.
HBC has appointed an independent charity to manage the facility, which has just secured a council-approved 50-year lease.
Proposed refurbishments include ten new five-a-side and one full size football pitches in addition to new indoor and outdoor tennis courts and a fitness suite.
The proposed plans have not yet been approved and will be submitted to the council later this autumn before the new lease starts in April 2014.
