Trafford continues focus on kids
Trafford Community Leisure Trust (TCLT) is continuing to invest in children in the Trafford area with the opening of its second Zest minus kids’ gym at Sale Leisure Centre.
The opening follows the launch of a similar facility at Stretford Leisure Centre in April. Both gyms have been developed by the trust with support from Manchester United Football Club and sponsorship from Force Fitness, Endsleigh Insurance and North and South Trafford Primary Care Trusts.
The £30,000 kids’ gym at Sale offers eight pieces of True hydraulic resistance kit from Force Fitness, as well as several CV stations.
The gym can cater for 500–600 children a month, with 300 children using the facility in August. Membership costs £10 a month, or £2.50 on a pay and play basis.
TCLT says the gyms are the first of their kind in the UK, highlighting its desire to be a market leader and forward thinker by providing better facilities for increasing fitness activity across the Trafford community.
The trust is currently looking at developing a third Zest minus gym at The GH Carnall Leisure Centre in Manchester.
