UK Sport names innovation partners
UK Sport has awarded eight organisations Innovation Partner status.
The new partners include members of the corporate and university sectors and have been appointed in recognition of their ongoing support of UK Sport’s Research and Innovation team.
The eight new partners are BAE Systems, Frazer-Nash Consultancy, Loughborough University Sports Technology Institute, the Sports and Exercise Science Department at Portsmouth University, the Centre for Sport and Engineering at Sheffield Hallam University, TotalSim and the Wolfson Unit.
Scott Drawer, head of research and Innovation at UK Sport, said: “Gold medals can be won or lost within fractions of seconds, and our job is to ensure that athletes are in the best possible position to take advantage of those tiny margins.
“The knowledge and expertise that our Innovation Partners contribute is critical to our work and we look forward to our working relationship going forward.
“The eight partners selected will inevitably make a significant contribution to the success of British athletes in the future.”
