Jimmy Fallon ride at Universal gets April launch date
Jimmy Fallon’s new ride at Universal Orlando has been given an official launch date of 6 April, with the operator promising the ultimate Tonight Show experience as they take a wild ride through New York, reliving the show's most memorable moments.
The ride will be a 72-seat flying theatre, with appearances from show announcer Steve Higgins as well as Grammy award-winning band, The Roots, who wrote the original attraction score.
During the show, riders will speed through the streets of New York City and all the way to the moon and back, encountering iconic landmarks such as the Statue of Liberty and the Empire State Building as they race against host Jimmy Fallon.
“You’ll be able to get the ultimate Tonight Show experience by getting up close and personal with the show’s most hilarious moments before taking off on a wild race through the Big Apple against Jimmy Fallon himself,” said Neil Engel, show producer for Universal Creative, writing in the Universal blog.
“Your race course includes New York’s biggest landmarks, sight, sounds, and even smells (New York City pizza)! But you’re racing Jimmy Fallon, which you know means surprises!! So hold on tight for the wackiest race on earth.”
The ride queue system will be a first for Universal, with the operator introducing its first Virtual Line experience – accessible via the Official Universal Orlando Resort App or at kiosks located outside the attraction’s entrance – allowing guests to spend less time waiting in line and more time exploring the park.
In recognition of the ride’s launch, the Tonight Show will hold tapings at Universal Orlando from 3 April to April 6. According to Universal, celebrity guests for the show will be announced over time.
