Glyndwr University has completed the purchase of Wrexham's Racecourse Ground stadium and Colliers Park - home venue and training facility of Wrexham Football Club respectively.

It is anticipated that the deal will safeguard the future of both facilities for the North Wales' town and will see the venues used by university students and local residents. Professor Michael Scott, the university's vice chancellor and chief executive, said: "This purchase has been made to secure the future of the stadium and the training ground for Wrexham and north east Wales as a sports venue."
