A new clubhouse has opened to the public at the Spean Bridge Golf Club in Inverness.

The facility was funded by a £84,000 lottery investment from Sport Scotland and includes a brand new clubroom, male and female locker rooms along with a kitchen and toilets.

The new facility has enabled the club to begin offering teaching programmes that were not available before due to the limitations of the previous clubhouse. The programmes are designed to benefit children in the surrounding area.

Clubhouse Project Convener, George Carson, said: "Throughout the three years of the project the office bearers and committee have kept their 'eye on the ball' in recognising that a fully serviced clubhouse was a watershed for the clubs future development."
