Worcester City Council (WCC) has revealed that it will maintain its current level of funding for local arts, sports and community groups in the coming year.

In its budget for 2011-12, the local authority said the Swan Theatre; Worcester Community Trust; and Huntingdon Hall would all benefit from a share of more than £300,000. Worcester Community Trust will receive the highest grant - worth £162,080 - and WCC's decision means that a number of cultural event will go ahead as planned.
