Wahanda rebrands to Treatwell
Online booking platform Wahanda is rebranding to Treatwell, the Dutch company it acquired in June 2015 for €34m (US$38m, £25m).
The rebrand to Treatwell is part of a strategy to unify the company under one umbrella as it continues to accelerate its international expansion.
“As we continue to pursue our global ambitions, it makes sense to operate under one brand,” said Lopo Champalimaud, founder of Wahanda and CEO of the newly-named Treatwell Group. “But we didn’t stop there. We also took the opportunity to improve the experience for both our customers and business partners.”
As part of the rebrand, Treatwell will be unveiling new product developments to its diary and client management system, including the addition of point-of-sale functionality, resource management capability and improved email marketing, which will launch in Germany in January and in the UK by the summer.
The Treatwell site has not only had a makeover, but will also showcase The Treatment Files, a new editorial destination for all things beauty. Brought to life by Treatwell’s editorial director Liz Hambleton, The Treatment Files offers weekly inspiration and helps consumers find the best treatments and services for their needs. It will also showcase Treatwell’s top stylists, therapists and beauty experts.
Hambleton recently joined the team after five years heading up the Grazia Beauty and Health desk.
“Rebranding to Treatwell has given our company a fresh new brand identity and tone of voice, which along with the launch of The Treatment Files, gives us a more emotional connection with our customers,” said Champalimaud.
Since October 2014, Wahanda has acquired Germany’s Salonmeister, Austria’s Beautycheck, Lithuanian mobile app development agency LemonLabs and French equivalent company ZenSoon – as well as Treatwell.
Treatwell now operates in ten countries across Europe – the UK, Ireland, Germany, Netherlands, France, Spain, Italy, Switzerland, Austria and Belgium – and aims to expand to 20 countries in the next five years.
