Waldorf Astoria Arizona Biltmore opens revamped 22,000sq ft spa
The Arizona Biltmore, A Waldorf Astoria Resort, has completed the remodeling and renovation of its 22,000sq ft (2,044sq m) spa facility – part of the multi-million dollar revamp of the property previously known as the Grand Dame of Phoenix.
Originally built in 1929, Waldorf Astoria has kept the architectural features designed by Frank Lloyd Wright intact. The 740-bedroom resort’s spa has undergone floor-to-ceiling interior remodeling and is now home to 19 treatment rooms – including two wet and two outdoor – locker rooms, a sauna, steamroom, whirlpool and experience shower. There is also a full service salon and fitness centre.
“The spa has been transformed with changes from our name and ambiance to our innovative treatment menu and wellness concepts,” explained director of spa and recreation for the new Spa Biltmore, Leslie Johnson. “Our guests will find a new resource to be inspired, be active and be well.”
The new menu will incorporate products described as organic, raw, vegan and gluten-free. Non-invasive technology will also be on offer at the spa, including HydraFacial’s skin resurfacing treatment, NuFace’s Micro-Current Lift machine, in addition to high frequency light and oxygen therapies.
There are also eight swimming pools at the resort, including the Paradise Pool, which has a 92ft long (24m) waterslide. There are 39 acres (16 hectares) of gardens, two 18-hole golf courses on-site plus six restaurants and lounges.
