Turnover up at exclusive Wentworth Club in Surrey
Private golf and tennis club Wentworth, in Surrey, has reported turnover of £19m for the year ending March 2012, up 13 per cent on the previous year.
The club, owned by restaurateur Richard Caring, offers full and golf memberships through a "rigorous admission process".
Its turnover in 2011 was £16.78m.
The WGA (UK) Holdings Limited report and financial statements for the period ending March 31 stated the business is in a mature stage of its lifecycle.
It said the club offers a superior facility and competition in the marketplace does not pose a significant threat.
A two-year discount for club members affected by the major redevelopment of the West Course in 2009 was listed as an exceptional item for the 2011 financial year, amounting to £1.37m, but had ended by the 2012 year.
