Echelon diversifies with interactive, at-home Smart Rower

Immersive equipment specialist Echelon Fitness has launched a new smart rower for the at-home fitness market.

Echelon Rower features a foldable, space-friendly design, magnetic resistance and on-handle controls providing a "quiet and smooth" rowing experience.

The on-handle buttons control 32 resistance levels, providing a suitably challenging workout for those of all abilities, while training metrics include speed, stroke rate, calories burned, heart rate and more.

The interactive, fully customisable rower can be connected to the Echelon Fit App via Bluetooth, allowing the user to receive personalised performance reports and the streaming of daily live classes and thousands of on-demand workouts – both on and off-rower.

Users can receive personalised post-class performance reports to track their progress accurately and reliably.

By connecting the rower, users can also track their performance against other Echelon Rower users, with instant worldwide leader board updates for both live and on-demand rows.

Launching this month on the UK market, the rower builds on Echelon's EX3 Smart Connect fitness bike and is part of Echelon's plans to diversify and expand its offer for the at-home fitness market.

“Our UK community has always been one of our most engaged globally, and we’re very excited to continue to help people improve their physical and mental health & wellbeing, now more affordably than ever before," said Angelo Ramsbott, MD for global development at Echelon Fitness.

“We don’t want anyone to ever have to train alone, and for us the Echelon Rower is another step towards achieving that - our fitness technologies truly are for everyone.”

The Echelon Rower is available from £1,199, while membership options for the Echelon Fit App begin at £24.99 a month.

US-based Echelon launched its first Connect bike in 2018 and has grown its offer steadily ever since. In 2019 the firm secured investment from private equity firm North Castle Partners, whose previous investments include Equinox, Barry’s Bootcamp, Curves International and Octane Fitness.
