Welsh rugby club Llanelli Scarlets has been awarded a £250,000 grant from the Sports Council for Wales.

The grant will be spent on the creation of a state-of-the-art training barn which will be used by different sports in the local community.

Chief executive, Stuart Gallacher, said: “This funding is an important step towards a vibrant, competitive future for the club as the professional era moves forward. It will help attract new players which will help in our ongoing pursuit of rugby excellence.”
