JD Wetherspoon is opening a £3m new pub – called The Kettleby Cross – in Melton Mowbray.

The pub’s name refers to a stone cross near the site, which acted as a signpost for travellers in times gone past.

It will serve up to ten real ales from regional brewers and micro-brewers, as well as food.

Manager Daniel MacCallum said: “We are looking forward to welcoming people into The Kettleby. We believe they will be impressed with the transformation of the building, and the pub will be an addition to the town’s social scene.”
