KA Leisure appoints Pulse to kit out gyms
Leisure solutions supplier Pulse has been appointed by KA Leisure to supply and install equipment at two of its newest facilities in Scotland.
Pulse Fitness – the equipment arm of the Pulse Group – will be providing gym kit at the Portal, a new £18m leisure centre, and at Garnock Community Campus, a new facility between Garnock School and KA Leisure.
KA Leisure is the trading name of North Ayrshire Leisure Limited, a registered charity in Scotland delivering sports, physical activities, events and other leisure pastimes across region.
KA Leisure will be one of the first operators worldwide to receive Pulse’s new strength range which includes an enclosed weight stack, easy to clean carbon covers and smooth handgrips, as well as workout instructions and illustrations for members showing muscles are being trained.
Pulse will also be supplying a mix of equipment including bespoke functional training rigs, cardiovascular equipment from its series 3 range and Keiser group cycles complete with the World Ride package. World Ride allows members to experience a series of high energy virtual landscapes across different locations. Equipment will also be IFI (inclusive fitness initiated) accredited to attract disabled people to become more physically active.
Chris Johnson, Pulse managing director, said: “We are delighted to be working with KA Leisure and look forward to supporting them in their latest vision. KA Leisure have created two fantastic state-of-the-art facilities and we hope that by providing a varied and innovative mix of equipment we can complement that. Our innovative technology will help KA Leisure to attract more people from their local communities to come and get fit.”
Colin Glencorse, KA Leisure business manager (leisure), said: “The combination of the varied equipment, training and marketing provided through Pulse will assist KA Leisure’s contribution towards the shared North Ayrshire Community Planning Partnership vision of ‘North Ayrshire – A Better Life’ by ensuring more people are more active more often.”
The Portal - Irvine’s new leisure, cultural and community centre is due to open early 2017. Garnock Community Campus will open in January.
