The refurbishment of Wyre Forest Glades Leisure Centre in Kidderminster has completed in time for the site’s 21st anniversary.

More than over £975,000 has been invested in the centre in a project funded jointly by DC Leisure and Wyre Forest District Council.

The leisure pool changing facilities have been upgraded with new lockers, flooring and lighting, as new family and disabled changing facilities have been installed.

A new Health Suite has also been built, which comprises a Helo steam room, sauna and walk-in wet room with special effect lighting throughout, and IFI accredited male and female changing rooms.

More efficient mechanical heating controls and air handling units have also been introduced to reduce costs and save energy.

Facilities at the leisure centre also include a 1,350-seat arena, 75-station gym, dance studio with sprung floor, leisure pool with wave machine and flumes, two squash courts and a café.

As well as the Wyre Forest Glades centre, DC Leisure also manages two other facilities under this contract with Wyre Forest District Council, Bewdley Leisure Centre and Stourport Sports Centre.
