Electrosonic CEO Jim Bowie steps down after 30-year career
Jim Bowie, a veteran of the industry after 30 years at Electrosonic, has announced his decision to step down, the company said in a statement.
Bowie will cease his role as CEO of the AV powerhouse – which has brought some of the attractions industry’s biggest shows, rides and exhibitions to life – in June this year. His resignation coincides with his 30th anniversary at the company.
“We’re coming off an exceptional year in 2016, with a great backlog for 2017,” Bowie said. “We have a very strong foundation, a very powerful leadership team, and a lot of talent, including young talent, which is so gratifying. I’m looking forward to seeing what the team will achieve in this next chapter of the Electrosonic story.”
Bowie’s replacement has not been appointed, but executive chairman of the board Steve Leyland will take the reins in the interim.
Bowie, who joined Electrosonic as an engineer in 1987, will stay on as senior adviser to the board.
The Rolling Stones retrospective Exhibitionism, Lionsgate’s The Hunger Games: The Exhibition, Ellis Island National Museum of Immigration and Panama's Biomuseo are just a few of Electrosonic’s most recent attractions projects.
