Fitness4Less launches Apex gym floor sessions
Budget health and fitness operator Fitness4Less is introducing four Apex gym floor sessions into 12 of its sites.
The Apex programme, which is provided by the Physical Company, is a series of 30-minute ‘ready-made’ gym floor group training solutions. The sessions encourage members to make the most of gym facilities and innovative kit on the gym floor.
Fifty members of staff across the 12 locations and two Topnotch Health Clubs in the group have completed the Apex training, and the clubs will be rolling out Ignite, Agility, Strength and Core sessions.
Sessions will be delivered by gym instructors and personal trainers to ensure a high level of interaction in groups of up to 12 people.
The four APEX programmes offer different types of workouts: Strength is for people who want to get stronger and are looking for maximum training efficiency; Ignite is designed to get members leaner, fitter and faster; Core helps strengthen and protect the spine and improve core strength, posture, balance and stability; Agility helps people ‘train like an athlete’.
Agility is the favourite session for Apex ambassador Dame Kelly Holmes. The 2004 double Olympic gold medal winner said: “Apex gives people the opportunity to work in a group environment with a range of different exercises and a variety of equipment. It’s impressive how the instructors get really involved in the sessions and give teaching points: it feels like a personal training master class.”
Steve Bradley, Fitness4Less operations director, said Apex gives the company the perfect platform to introduce new kit, concepts and ways to work out: “Apex is absolutely perfect for us as it reinforces our friendly, non-intimidating gym atmosphere. The sessions will provide something different and innovative that members may not have tried before. But they will not just be a novelty: these are tried and tested sessions which are highly effective.
“The first-rate training from Physical Company has equipped our instructors with all the skills they need to deliver these top quality sessions.”
John Halls, Physical Company managing director, said: “We are delighted to have Fitness4Less on board with Apex as the format of the sessions is a great fit for its gyms. Budget health clubs are looking to add value wherever they can and Apex does just that: it energises the gym floor, encourages members to try new kit and gives people the chance to have personalised group training from skilled personal trainers.”
